SENATOR HUTCHISON COMMENTS ON
TEXAS A&M; CHANCELLOR ROBERT D. MCTEER'S RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

WASHINGTON, DC -- Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Vice Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, today issued the following statement on Texas A&M; University System Chancellor Robert D. McTeer’s announcement that he plans to retire by the end of the year.

“I have enjoyed working with Chancellor McTeer during his years with the Federal Reserve System and in particular, during the past two years with the Texas A&M; University System. His leadership has improved our education system through key centers of excellence including the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center, food safety and water conservation research. I am glad that Chancellor McTeer plans to remain in Texas and wish him the very best in future pursuits.”
