SENATOR HUTCHISON ANNOUNCES BRAC CHAIRMAN PRINCIPI
TO ATTEND SAN ANTONIO REGIONAL HEARING
WASHINGTON, DC -- At Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison’s (R-TX) request, Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission Chairman Anthony Principi today agreed to attend the BRAC Regional Hearing, scheduled for July 11 in San Antonio.
After repeating an earlier request this morning during a meeting with Chairman Principi at BRAC Headquarters in Crystal City, Virginia, Chairman Principi confirmed he would attend the San Antonio hearing.
“Chairman Principi continues to demonstrate his eagerness to be directly involved with base communities and Congressional leaders during the BRAC process. Every adversely impacted base in Texas will be represented at the Regional BRAC hearing in San Antonio,” Sen. Hutchison said.
"I am pleased Chairman Principi has agreed to personally attend Texas’ meeting,” Sen. Hutchison continued. “The overall impact on Texas is enormous and the Chairman’s presence indicates his interest in hearing the facts on which the Commission must base its decisions.”
