SENATOR HUTCHISON PRAISES PASSAGE OF TAX-CUT BILL

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) issued the following statement regarding the Senate's passage of the tax reconciliation bill (H.R. 1836) today.

"The Senate today proved that even though we are closely divided, we can form a working coalition to pass what must be our No. 1 priority – tax relief for all Americans.

"This is the biggest tax cut in two decades, and it is a big victory for the American taxpayer.

"All taxpayers will have their rates cut. Parents will get to double the child tax credit. Married couples will get some relief from the marriage penalty. And families who struggle a generation or more to build a business won't have their dreams dashed by the death tax."
