  ASSISTANCE WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

Assisting Wisconsin residents who are having problems with the federal government is one of my top priorities. Staff in my state offices across Wisconsin have a great deal of experience dealing with federal agencies and providing assistance to Wisconsin residents. Such work is known as casework.

There are 11 full-time caseworkers in my state offices who are dedicated to helping people resolve problems with federal agencies. Any Wisconsin resident can call or write me about a problem. A caseworker will get the information requested or act as a liaison with the government agency. My offices will attempt to resolve communication problems, paperwork glitches, and get a person's problem back on track with the appropriate agency.

People from our state frequently ask questions about Social Security, Immigration, the Internal Revenue Service, and a wide variety of other issues and agencies. Although some inquiries can be handled over the phone, others require written correspondence. If you would like me to contact an agency on your behalf, please complete the Privacy Act Release Form (PAR) and return it to my office in your area. When filling out the PAR, it is vital that you clearly describe your problem and provide pertinent information regarding your situation, such as previous contacts with the agency, case numbers, paperwork filed to date, etc.

For additional information about assistance with the federal government, I encourage you to visit firstgov.gov, a great source of information which provide an answer to your inquiry.
