Oberstar Announces Funding for Mississippi River Overlook Project
WASHINGTON--The City of Baxter will benefit from a grant for $260,123 awarded by the National Park Service (NSP), announced Congressman James L. Oberstar. The funding, which was awarded to and will be administered by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MDNR), comes from the NPS’s Land and Water Conservation Fund. MDNR will subgrant the funding to Baxter to acquire 63.1 acres of forested land along the Mississippi River. Read more... |

Oberstar, who is the longest-serving Representative in Minnesota’s history, was elected to his 17th term by a wide margin last night.
