Congressman Turner Meets With Dayton Chapter of NAACP

The Dayton Chapter of the NAACP came to Washington as part of the NAACP's 97th annual convention. The Dayton representatives met with Congressman Turner and discussed issues, including the Fannie Lou Hamer, Rosa Parks and Coretta Scott King Voting Rights Act Reauthorization and Amendments Act of 2006 (H.R. 9) which the House passed, with Congressman Turner's support while the NAACP convention was still in progress. After discussing issues, Congressman Turner personally led the group on a tour of the U.S. Capitol, which included a rare photo opportunity on the Speaker's Balcony (overlooking the Mall with the Washington Monument in the background.
